I got this set a few months ago when the price was about $65.00. This is by far the best dado set I have ever used. So far I have only used it to rabbet maple plywood for cabinet backs, it cut very cleanly and left flat bottoms with no chip out. I have owned a Frued dado set for about 8 or 9 years that I paid more than a $100 for and was never very happy with. In fact I avoided using it in favor of the router table. This set is much better and cost less. It does come with just a cardboard box, but a good case can be made out of scraps laying around the shop.

Like everything about the product except the box. For the price would expect something better to store the blades in. The blade set performs very well and the cut is very good. Some of the blades were tight on the arbor and had to be "screwed" on. The extra teeth make the blade perform without chipping and tear out. Even fine cuts across the grain were very good. 1st time use cut 200 ft of boards of Red Oak.

Very well made set. As complete as you could ask for. Other reviews had some complaints about the box, so a good first use of the blade set was to make a better storage box. The interior packing protection was excellent so I just made a simple box the same size as the original. Blades cut clean and reasonably smooth. Overall an excellent value. Shipping could have been a little quicker, but came earlier than the original estimate.

This is my first stacked dado set, and it's clearly superior to the wobble dado I was using. I have a project that calls for about 2000 passes across pine 2x4's and didn't want to consume an expensive set for that (look out for staples!!). I've made about 1200 cuts so far with nice flat bottoms and little tear-out . The last is as good as the first, and the width is spot-on.
I didn't rate it a 5 because the arbor holes are a little rough and I have to work the blades around quite a bit to get them onto my arbor. It's a pain when trying to add and remove shims.
My Delta contractor saw has plenty of power for the 8"--it cuts easier than the 6" wobble I was using.

Let me start by saying that I am a beginning woodworker and this is the first dado set I have ever used. That being said, I am very happy with this dado set so far. It makes a nice, flat bottomed dado, (albeit with some light saw marks but you never see those anyway) and it comes with a nice handy chart listing what blade/chippers you have to use to get the size dado you want. It also comes with some thin shims to use in case your 'nominal' lumber size is a little off ( and when isn't it?). Yes, the "case" is really a cardboard box with some foam inserts but it does the job; besides, I don't see why my dado set needs a velvet-lined oak box to keep it safe. After reading some user reviews, I suspect that is the only reason why some dado sets cost three times as much as this one. But I digress. I recommend this product to anyone who needs a good dado set without breaking the budget.
