Adding and Removing Sub Domains

Adding and removing sub-domains is fairly easy. You can add and remove sub-domains by going through your control panel. I will show you how to do this in a few easy steps.

The first thing that you will need to do is log in to the control panel of your website. If you have more than one website, log in to the website that you wish to add a sub-domain to or remove. This can usually be accomplished by adding /cpanel to your domain name.

We will focus on adding a sub-domain first. Then we will look at how to remove a sub-domain.

How to Add a Sub-Domain

Assuming you are already logged in to your control panel, we will go from there. You should be looking at the control panel interface. You should see different icons or links like mail, web mail, change password, etc. Locate the link or icon that says Subdomain. Click on that link.

The next page that you will see will be the Sub-Domain Maintenance page. On this page you will see a couple of fields. The first field is where you will enter the name of your sub-domain. For example, if you wish to have a sub-domain named mysubdomain.yourdomain.com, then you would enter the mysubdomain in that first field. Once you have entered your sub-domain name, click the Add button at the end of that field.

The next page that you will see will say that you have successfully added the sub-domain. If you need to setup a redirection for your sub-domain, you can do so by clicking the Go Back link on that page.

That is all there is to it. You can add as many sub-domains as your web package will allow.

How to Remove a Sub-Domain

Now I will show you how to remove a sub-domain. Removing a sub-domain is fairly easy. But make sure that you really want to remove the sub-domain before you remove it, because once you remove it, it’s gone.

Log in to your control panel of your website. Look for the icon or link that says Subdomain. Diffferent versions may read different. Click on that link. On the next page you will see a list of sub-domains that you have installed on that domain. The last field has a Delete button beside it. Drop that box down and select the sub-domain that you want to delete. Once you have it selected, click the Delete button.

The next page will say that you have deleted the sub-domain. And that is it. Remember to only delete a sub domain when you absolutely know you will not use the sub domain any more. This way you will not lose important data and any SEO efforts that may have already been achieved.

That is how you add and remove sub-domains by going through your control panel. If you have any problems adding or removing sub domains drop by our website and drop us an email, we will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have.

Making money from domain names

Like its design and features, the domain name also plays a vital role in a website’s success. Irrespective of the nature of the website, a catchy domain name is essential for creating a lasting impression. With millions of websites online, what differentiates one website from another is not the design or features but the domain name of the website.
For example, a website may have the most user friendly interface, but if its domain name is something like wehaveworkforhomebusinesses.com chances are that people will have trouble remember such a long domain name; however if the domain name is shorter like workfromhome.com, its highly likely people will remember the domain name and this will ensure regular traffic.
You might have heard of organizations paying millions to buy a domain name from its existing owner. If you are wondering how a domain name can be used to make money online, here are a few pointers. To begin with, it is important to understand that all domain names are available on a ‘lease’ basis; this means that every 3-5 years a domain name has to be renewed. If the webmaster is no longer interested in renewing a domain name, the domain name expires and is made available for use by some other webmaster.
Much like a popular restaurant, when the ownership changes the new owner inherits all existing customers. Similarly, a domain name continues to enjoy traffic for some time after the domain has expired. If the new webmaster plays his cards right, he can utilize the existing traffic to his advantage. All it takes is a little bit of research; once a domain expires a person can buy a popular domain and then sell it to the highest bidder. Also, there is specialized software available that can keep track of expired domains and all a person has to do is decide which domains are worth buying once they expire.
Apart from expired domains, another method is buying new domains that might be popular in the future. Buying new domain names requires considerable skill and research, but it is possible to buy new domains and hold on to them till they are popular. For example, let us assume a company xyz is looking to launch their own website; a person that has already bought the domain name xyz.com can sell it to the company for a profit. The term ‘premium domains’ is used for domain names that are extremely popular or sought after, and the price of some premium domain names can be close to a million dollars.
Earlier, every domain name was required to link to a webpage or website; this was primarily to discourage people from holding on to a large number of domain names. If a domain name was not linked to a website or webpage it was cancelled, however most domain name providers today automatically create a dummy page so that a domain name is not cancelled due to non compliance to domain name ownership rules.

There Is Money To Be Made From Dead Domain Names

Each day website owners are allowing domain names they have purchased to expire completely by accident. Yet a well informed investor who is aggressive enough can snap up these domain names and capture a large amount of existing website traffic for what is a brand new site. Unfortunately, there are many website owners today who have lost out because of this whilst there are just as many perceptive investors who have been made richer because of it.

All websites only survive if they have regular amounts of traffic being directed towards their site each day. So often when a site which has a memorable domain name and constant traffic going to it becomes available they will quickly be snapped up by some of the more savvy domain name investors around. Then often within a matter of days they have sold the domain name on for a profit.

Let us say for example a sit has become available which sells bridal gowns and other wedding paraphernalia but because the site is not user friendly or it has been poorly designed. Or because the products it is selling are over priced and has now done as well as the owner had expected so they have allowed the domain to expire.

Once the domain name on this site has expired then a person will have the chance to actually purchase it for themselves. Normally those involved in investing domain names will use the services of a domain watchdog company who will immediately inform them of any names which become available that they may be interested in. Upon hearing about the site say the bridal gown one the investor has the choice whether to purchase it or not. Sometimes they can pick up domain names for as little at $6.95 using a domain watchdog service.

Within a matter of minutes you could find yourself being the owner of a site that has plenty of traffic being directed towards it. But what you will then need to do in order to generate cash flow for it is to build a new website page with a number of related ad links placed upon it. Doing this will help to better monetize any existing traffic that is being directed towards the site.

As time passes then you as the investor have the choice of either building up the site even further which will in turn help to generate more cash for you. Or you can simply choose to resell (flip) the side to another domain name investor, domain name broker or a person who is actually interested in owning the website for themselves.

If you have an old domain name which you are considering getting rid of it may be well to place it on a site such as eBay or one of the many domain name auction sites which have now been set up online. You may well be pleasantly surprised at just how much you can sell it for using these sites. On eBay in recent times some of the more unusual domain names which have been put up for auction have sold for as much as $500 which is a tidy profit in anyones book.

However, for the more serious minded domain name investors out there they utilise a number of free and paid domain name valuation tools and services online, which can help them to make a more informed decision. Although the actual valuation prices tend to vary vastly because it depends on whether they have been either automated or manually generated by someone, it is not unusual for a domain to sell for more than its owner would have originally thought.

Finding Great Domain Names In A Different Way

Those on the prowl for a great domain name to coincide with their business name, service area or focus topic are likely to find many of the good names are already gone. The reality is it is becoming very hard to find a fantastic domain name. With more than 25 million dot com names already registered and thousands more selling each day, the prospect is daunting.

The unfortunate truth is that a good domain name can be vital to online success. Those names that are short, easy to remember, are descriptive within a niche and so on can be the most difficult to snap up.

Most web savvy folks understand that a good domain name is vital for business. Unfortunately, it can be rather costly for a company or individual to get their hands on a good name. With some of the better dot com names fetching incredibly high prices, it might seem like all is lost. It is not at all uncommon for good names to sell in the thousands to even millions when they have already been registered.

The buying and selling of domain names has become a big business. There is no denying that. Private investors and even corporations are making very big returns by buying, registers and selling names to others who can use them. There are even sites that have been created to facilitate the trading of these names. Even eBay has gotten into the game in facilitating transfers of names through its auction site.

Despite the competition for some of the better names, there is still a rich source of possibilities out there. Some investors are finding their niche in buying expired domain names. The truth is there are tons of names out there that have expired or cancelled registrations. This arena has big financial potential.

Domains that fall into the expired class are those that were once registered and perhaps even utilized. For whatever reason, the owners of these names decided not to renew. The reason range from lack of payment to going out of business. No matter the reason, however, these names end up back on the market and they can be worth a pretty penny. Many of these sites have established traffic, links and reputations. Building a new site with the old name can be a boon for new web publishers. It's even feasible to just buy these names to turn around and sell them again.

In the past, it was difficult to keep up with what names were on the expired list and those that were soon to expire. This is not the case any longer. Tools are available that can help you keep up with what is on the expired market and what names are soon to arrive on it.

Devising a catchy domain name can be very important to business. It doesn't matter whether you need a domain name for yourself or you just want to get into buying or selling, the expired route can be the way to go. It opens doors where they might have been closed before.

Wrinkle Creams That Reduce the Effects of Aging

Since time immemorial, women have been praised for their beauty. Beauty never goes unnoticed. Movie stars and celebrity models are popular not only for their talents, but also for their beauty. In every nook and corner of the world, women crave to look good.

You can begin to understand the intricacies of skin care products by reading reviews written by both users of the creams and dermatologists. You want to do the proper research before choosing a cream because you do not want to waste good money only to learn that the cream you bought is a sham.

You can discover countless Anti Aging Skin Care Products on the shelves of beauty stores near your home. Frequently, a novel skin care creation is initiated. Mostly, this just makes the choices more impossible to differentiate.

Attractiveness is always a matter of opinion but wrinkles hide the lovely features of a woman's face. Growing old and also extreme contact to ultraviolet emissions from the sun produce premature development of wrinkles.

Skin care experts are of the opinion that aging can be controlled to some extent using Anti Aging Skin Care Products. Surgical methods like 'Botox' treatment and 'facelift' are also used a lot these days. However, such methods are quite expensive.

Anti Aging Skin Care Products not only help in controlling the development of fine lines (or wrinkles); they also make the skin smooth and beautiful. There are many skin care products which also remove blemishes in addition to wrinkles. Try using only those wrinkle creams which have an 'active sunshield' in it.

There is no single best cream. Your needs may be different from another woman's needs. You should discuss your skin with a dermatologist to get the most out of you choice in an anti wrinkle cream.

You must never make the mistake of using a wrinkle cream just because some movie star endorses it. Beauty magazines are replete with advertisements of wrinkle creams. Usage of 'herbal anti wrinkle creams' might help you in treating wrinkles. Consult a good dermatologist to get some idea about the different types of wrinkle creams available today.

A to Z of Domain Names

It’s been two years since John started his online business. He is very much satisfied with his current web host whose services he acquired one year ago. Today John is relaxing in his chair and thinking about the initial days when he spent many hours on the Internet collecting information related to web hosting. Like him there are many John’s out there who are in search of information everyday, visiting this and that website hoping to find the most illuminating advice. The problem is that common topics of interest can be found on most of the websites whereas other relevant issues are not dealt with everywhere. This article is going to touch on one of those areas: various concerns related with domain names.

What is multiple domain hosting?
Many times you will see that a web host offers multiple domain hosting. In simpler words it means that on buying an account you will have the ability to get multiple websites. For instance, if the plan provides you with five domain names, you can use one domain for your website and you will still have four domain names leftover to use. The advantage of this scenario is that you can resell these four domain names to your clients.

What is Domain Parking?
If you are planning to build up a website and have decided on a name for it you then must purchase that domain name from a domain registrar: i.e. your domain name gets placed on a name server so that you can use it later on. This is known as domain parking. Even if your website content is not ready, it’s better to park your desired domain name. Otherwise, it might be possible that in future somebody else acquires that particular domain name.

What are sub domains?
Sub domains are ‘third level’ domains in the sense that they are used solely to organize your website content. They are simply folders under your root directory, but to access them a special URL is used.
For instance, http://www.m6.net is a regular URL without a sub domain.
http://features.m6.net is an URL with the sub domain name: "features".
Here the:
.net: is the first level domain,
m6: is the second level domain,
features: is the third level domain

For how long does a domain name belong to you?
Generally when you register a domain name it is registered for a minimum of one year. However, you can register it for more years, as there is no hard and fast rule as such.

What is Domain Renewal?
After one year you need to renew your domain name so that your website doesn’t get lost. Generally when your domain is about to expire your domain registrar will send you a reminder mail regarding the domain renewal.

What happens when your domain name expires?
When your domain name expires you can renew it within one month. If you don’t renew it in this period it goes into a redemption phase. It stays in this redemption phase for 15 to 30 days before it is then available for purchase again at a normal price. Getting a domain name out of redemption phase is like buying fifty domains as it can cost around $200!

How to find out the owner of a domain name?
To find out the owner of a domain name, use the WhoIs search tool on the Internet .For E.g. Go to http://centralops.net/co/ and type the domain name under Domain Dossier. It will show you the name of the registrant/domain’s owner/web host.

What is WhoIs record?
WhoIS record is a domain name search engine/Internet program where users can enter an Internet entity (e.g. a domain, a network, some hosts) and it will give detailed information on the domain registrar, the owner of the domain, and respective DNS records.

Free Domain Name Register

Free stuff sites make up a very decent percentage of all sites on the internet. You can get anything from free screen savers to free software to free iPods to free vacations on the internet. Obviously other than a very few select products none of them are 'truly' free. They are not even a 'shareware kind' of product. Most of these schemes will expect a certain action to be performed to claim the 'free stuff'.

Normally, signing up to an offer from an advertiser, referring friends to a site or service or buying a related product all are examples of the 'actions' expected. For example, the free iPod offer that took over the internet by craze works on the premise that each person will refer 5 of their friends to the scheme as well as sign up to a few sponsor offers himself.

What is surprising is that out of all these offers, there are very few that are webmaster-centric. You hardly find offers for free domains, free webhosting or free traffic when you sign up for an offer. This is probably because the cost of these services or products are too low to warrant much interest. It can also be that webmasters prefer more direct forms of rewards like cash.

It is not that there are absolutely no free domain offers on the net. There are a few but their 'action' expected is either to buy hosting or to sign up and post at forums. The first scenario is a little scary because most web hosting companies will register the 'free' domain in their own name. So if want to change the web host, you lose the domain name and with it all the hard work you put in to develop the brand image. That leaves the posting at forums option. Well, if you asked me to post, say 50 messages and all of reasonable length (atleast 10 - 15 words), it will take me a month. This assumes that I also have something better to do! I cannot wait that long for a domain even if it is free.

From experience, it is seen that a webmaster will never refuse a free domain name. For that matter no one will will refuse a free thing if there is no catch involved. A webmaster should be willing to sign up for a free offer or two in exchange of a free domain. If such a scheme were available it should be quite sucessful. May be not as much as the free iPods schemes but atleast 50% as effective as them. If the free offer does not involve disclosure of credit card information, it will be the icing on the cake!

The basics of Domain Name Registration

The first step to starting your website is to choose a name for your website, which is also known as its domain name. You can only choose a domain name that is available for use. So, first of all, you have to check for the availability of your preferred choices. Subsequently follows domain name registration.

Advisable is that the name of the website should be self explanatory and the one that aptly conveys what your business is all about. Ideally, a domain name should be based on your keyword(s). Keywords are what people typically type into the search boxes of the various search engines to find relevant information. Thus, keyword based domain names help your website show up in search engine rank pages more spontaneously and facilitate people to have easier access to your site. It is important that the correct target audience is able to access your site through search engines. Short and memorable domain name is, therefore, the ideal choice for both instant and long lasting recall and recognition.

What registration does is that it gives you full copyright protection for a particular name, preventing others from using or misusing it. In other words, you gain full control over the use of the name and it becomes your exclusive property to be dealt with in the manner you think fit.

Many companies offer domain name services for registration of your domain name on your behalf. You can easily find services that are region specific, for instance if you are interested in domain name registration in Australia, you can find an appropriate service provider who looks after that particular geographical region. What you can do is visit one of these sites and check the availability of the domain names that you are interested in and also decide on which extension is best suited to the kind of website you wish to establish.

The extension is a part of the website’s name that follows the actual name after a dot. Extensions like .org, .gov, .edu, .lib etc. convey the nature of enterprise of the website. Extensions are also region specific and domain name registration for Australia would be domain name followed by .au.

As regards the cost, there are different packages or schemes available in the market for cheap and reliable domain name registration services. There are a plethora of service providers out there and you can choose the one that suits your purpose the best.

Internet Domain Registration Scams

Are there internet domain registration issues of which I need to be aware? The answer, actually, is yes. Internet domain registration is big business with competition for the best names that can be picked up by the top search engines. Like in any competitive field, there are always those out looking to take advantage of you. We both know that your domain name is important to you and so is your money, so it is important that you be aware of and concerned with certain scenarios where you can be taken advantage of in the internet domain registration game.
The most daily “trick” you may encounter comes by plan of internet domain registration renewal. The internet domain registration companies will use the credit card number you gave them to begin with and automatically renew your domain name several months in advance of when you need it done. This is a way of getting your money in advance of when you need it and thus cutting your paid for time down. It is a not a new scam that the internet domain registration companies invented; magazines sometimes will use the same method with regard to subscription renewals.
There is a way to stop this from happening, or at least reducing the risk. Never give the internet domain registration company permission to user your credit card to automatically renew your domain name. They may try to scare you by telling you that giving them permission in advance will ensure that you do not lose your domain name. The truth is, you can keep track of the time as easily as they can.
If you do not allow the internet domain registration companies to automatically renew, trust me, they will remind you when your time is approaching via email. This, however, is another time when scammers are out in full force. Be sure the emails you receive are from the internet domain registration company you are working with. Sometimes domain renewal is a way of hiding phishing scams. Just stay on top of things and be aware of who the sender is on any email you receive.
The truth is that if you use a legitimate internet domain registration company, they will send you email notices reminding you that you need to renew. They will send such notices well in advance, but will let you know when you actually need to renew. As ridiculous as it may seem to many people, you do have to renew your domain registration every time your registration runs out. The best way, though, to avoid the many scams and cons out there is to simply keep track of your domain timing and the companies with which you are working. Your best defense is being knowledgeable about your own situation.
One of the most important actions you will perform in the building of your presence on the web is internet domain registration. Keeping the name you want is valuable, but does cost you money. With such high demand for domains, there are obviously going to be those who want to take advantage of the situation. Your best defense against such people is to keep track of your domain, your registration time, and which internet domain registration company you are using.

Is Your Domain Name Safe ?

Your domain name is registered somewhere out in cyberspace through an authorized domain name registrar. Do you know which one? Do you know who is listed as the registrant / owner of your domain names?

A domain name registrar is the organism or company chargeable for providing domain name registration services to the public. A domain name registrar is either authorized by ICANN ( the Internet Firm for Assigned Names and Numbers, an framework hot to Internet governance ) to contribute registration services or is authorized by its own supervision to register domain names within a specific ccTLD ( country code Top Parallel Domain name extension ). A registrar extremity further personify authorized by the registry of a Top Commensurate Domain to act as an means of the registry to formation domain name registrations, locale the consideration is not a reseller. The registrar is further engaged for creating and maintaining a WHOIS database for its customers. The quantity of registrars has exploded in recent caducity, stifle some being increased reputable than others. Examples of domain registrars embrace GoDaddy, Network Solutions, Register. com.

Man upstairs Helps Those Who Protect Their Domain Names: You know the sayings - an ounce of prevention - Holy spirit helps those - a stitch in bout. Nowhere are these sayings truer than in cyberspace. The internet is still akin to the Barbaric West. Lawlessness and maelstrom still burst forth. You would substitute muddled by the quantity of calls and emails everyday from popular bright-eyed - pace companies who own irrecoverable guidance or ownership of their domain names. The cause of domain name problems is, more often than not, a failure of the company to protect its domain name from its own employees, third parties, vandals and scam artists.

Here are some tips that will help keep your domain secure from third parties, hackers, cybersquatters, pornosquatters, add - site squatters and other domain name leaches.

1. Control your domain registration information: You must be listed as the domain registrant with correct contact information in order to control your domain. Many companies hire web developers or internet service providers ( ISPs ) to secure its domain names and develop its websites. I can not state this more strongly. Never let third parties register your domain name without oversight and instruction. You must control information at the registrar level in order to control your domain name.

2. Control your domain account number, login name and password: The domain account password with the registrar is set by the domain owner at the time the account is created with the registrar. Keep your domain account number, login name and password secret at all times. If you forget your password, every registrar has a system to send your password to the listed email account. In fact, all changes to your domain registration account occur through the registrant email address. Hackers sometimes use their tools on registrar login screens to hack into your account and change your registrant information. Make sure your password contains both letters and numbers and both upper and lowercase characters. The registrar will not treat you as the domain name owner / registrant unless you are the email address who controls your username and password.

3. Control your employees: What happens when the IT person you hired leaves for another company? If that IT person’s email was provided at registration and you don’t control that email address, you may be in serious trouble. The same is true of business partners. When company founders have a falling out, domain disputes often occur. Also, be careful about using free email services such as email at msn. com or email at hotmail. com, which you do not use regularly. Many of these services will discontinue your account if you do not log in on a regular basis.

4. Lock your domain name: Every authorized domain registrar is required to allow you to “Lock” your domain name. Domain locking is critical because registrars who receive a transfer request from any third party will send you an email. If your domain is not locked, the failure to respond to the registrars email request for change is an automatic “approval” of the transfer. Locking your domain prevents this from occurring. You will know if your domain name is locked if you see the words “Registrar - locked” when you view your domain name at the registrar or Whois database level.

5. Regularly check your domain registrant information: Check the Whois database on a regular basis to ensure you are listed as the registrant with all the appropriate contact and email information. Whois information is listed through your registrar or through http: / / www. internic. net / whois. html

6. Beware of spam emails, which pretend to be your registrar: You will receive spam from companies pretending to be your registrar, or mail asking you to sign papers again purporting to be your registrar. You must be extremely careful when responding to any request for information or authority about your domain by mail or email. Ninety percent of what will likely come into your inbox is essentially fraud. If you are not absolutely certain that the email is from your registrar, you should not respond. Many people sign or respond to emails, which provide authority to give your domain name up to someone else.

7. Don’t forget to renew your domain registration: Some companies simply fail to renew their domain name registration when it expires. If the email for the contact person is bad, the company never gets notice that its domain name is expiring. Many cybersquatters, or worse yet pornosquatters, have already paid money for rights to the domain name if it expires. They want your domain because it already has built - in traffic that they can turn into money by replacing your web site with an advertisement or link site, or a pornography site.

8. Establish your domain name as a trademark: Most of the domain name laws are designed to ensure that the proper company has the right to its domain name. These domain laws are tied directly to your trademark rights in the words used for your domain name. Registering your company or domain name with the appropriate trademark office gives you tremendous leverage in protecting your domain name in cyberspace.

9. Call an attorney: If you do lose your domain name, contact an attorney who specializes in this area. There are laws and remedies available which might help you get your domain name back. Domain names are valuable property and should be protected no different than a company’s customer list or its trade secrets. Many companies rely on their domain names and web traffic for substantial revenue. While domain name law firms can help your company get its domain names back once lost, it is rarely without serious business interruption and the investment of significant resources. The best course is to protect your domain name on the front end. An ounce of prevention is truly worth a pound of cure.

Understanding the fundamentals of Domain Name Registration

The power of internet has evolved over the years as a tool for progress. It is time to utilize it as a host rather than a passive user. It is time to acknowledge how appreciably this knowledge can shape our lives.

One of the many vital aspects of internet is “Domain Name Registration”. One must understand the concept optimally to use the internet power, as it alone opens infinite possibilities for you to capitalize on.

Domain name is a website name that we enter in the address bar to explore the intended website. Also known as the ‘hostname’, it serves as the identity of any accessible destination on the internet. A domain name refers to the name preceded by http:// or www in any URL. For example, the domain names in URLs like www.xyz123xyz.com and http://xyz123xyz.edu are xyz123xyz.com and xyz123xyz.edu, respectively.

A Domain Name may ideally consist of numerals (0-9), alphabets (a-z) and hyphen (-), so to allow memorable names, wider options and higher recall capacity. It is understood by the Domain Name System (DNS) through a unique IP (Internet Protocol) address, which is a 32 bit binary code. IP address is decoded by the system to find a website’s exact location on the internet.

The extension in any domain name varies on the basis of the nature of field specialization and location. Some of the commonly used extensions are .edu, .com, .org, standing for education, commercial and organization, respectively. Further, a domain name registration of Australia may have .au as an extension, as in www.xyz123xyz.edu.au.

Domain Name Registration as such is fairly easy. First you decide on some Domain Names for your website. Then the same are checked for availability on the internet by simply exploring them through the address bar. If the desired domain name is available, it can be bought by any of the Domain Name Registrar, or commonly known as ‘Server Site’. Domain Name Registrars are those who have space for supporting your web portal on the internet and also have accreditation from the international body - Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and/ or by national ccTLD authority.

To conclude, Domain Registration can be done with various extensions depending upon your requirement and availability. It can be purchased from any of these registrars by paying the initial fee over the internet. Once the Domain Name has been purchased, it means that hostname is reserved for your use and you can make your website and upload it on the address.

Domain Names - Investments That Pay Dividends

When people first hear about domain investing, even experienced marketers, they often cringe. Some think it means buying trademark and typo terms to get "accidental" visitors looking for a different site. Some believe domains have little monetary value, and are instead traded on intrinsic characteristics like "cuteness" or scarcity.

Some still believe a domain name doesn't matter, thinking JiggyPop.org is just as good as Hotels.com, provided the site's content is the same. Listen, at one time I thought those things too, but those assumptions are dead wrong. Let me illustrate the real value of quality domain investments with a little quiz: Which domain name is most valuable on a strict valuation basis? a) Google.com or b) CellPhones.com

I expect most of you have answered Google.com as it does stand out just a bit, but incredibly it is not the correct answer and this is why. Google is as we know just the brand of a search engine and it is not very often used as a keyword. The important thing that comes out of this is that when you own a domain name, you have total power over your keyboard.

The domain name Google.com is one of the short names that sound cool and easy to remember and I too have several similar type domain names. They only receive minimum traffic as they are not proper words that people would use to find something and the same would have applied to Google. This type of domain name investment could cost millions of dollars in branding costs, otherwise it would only earn a couple of bucks a year through click revenue and at auction would only sell for about 2000 dollars.

Now try and just think what you could do with a domain name like Books.com and just how much casual traffic you would get. The is commonly known as type-in traffic or direct navigation. If I were to base this on established type-in click-through metrics for the domain industry plus my own personal experience, I would expect a domain name like Books.com would normally receive up to 5000 type-in visitors a day, which is an incredible 125,000 monthly hits.

Domain Names - Six Golden Rules for Generic Domain Names

You don't have to be rocket scientist to see just how one domain name is worth millions and another one similar could be worth next to nothing. Let's take for example two similar domain names like Beds.com and , which are virtually the same but Beds.com is a goldmine whereas Bedsx.com probably loses money.

If you have already made the decision that you want to buy a domain then you will just have to read these 6 golden rules if you want your domain investment to reap benefits. There are a variety of ways to buy domains but with a bit of investigation you could end up with a big buck winning domain name when you decide to sell.

1. Keyword volume: This is an estimate of how many searches the word or phrase has, which is an indication of it?s popularity. For example, according to Google, the phrase "Hawaii Singles" has 2400 searches a month. If you were bidding on HawaiiSingles.com, you would also want to check Keyword Discovery and/or WordTracker for additional data. You'll never get more than an indication since each tool measures differently. However, it's a safe bet if people are searching for a phrase there will be some natural traffic and SEO potential, and if there's no volume, there will be little or none.

2. Commonality: Uniqueness is not the only success factor in a great domain and if you think for a moment, domains are really all of one category. The best words to chose for a domain name are words that are always on the tip of our tongue and everybody else's. Word order and plurals are also important factors to take into consideration when choosing a domain name, for example - bank, banked, banks. SportCars.com for example won't be worth as much as SportsCars.com. Basically it ranks as a losing domain if you compare it to RunningShoes.com. If you try a couple of domain checks on Google you will find that ShoesRunning.com isn't even there.

3. True type-in traffic: This information can be difficult to get, but it never hurts to ask, especially when the sale is private and you aren't under stressful time constraints. You specifically want to know how much type-in traffic the name gets, not including visitors who are referred from search engines and links, both of which are unreliable in the long term.

4. Length: A further important consideration is the domain length. Short domain names will get better results because they are a lot easier to remember and spell and would convert into loads more traffic. Branding domains with takinf these important factors into account will increase drastically the domain name value which is great news if later sell your domain.

5. Prior use: If the domain has a past life, and was acquired through a drop service or from an expired list, you want to know about it. Forget perceived positives like search engine ranking and PR since those will likely disappear after the name is in your hands. Instead, delve into the name's dark side. Was it ever used for spamming? Is it banned from Google's index? Did it previously contain questionable content? Overcoming these negatives can be more work than you bargained for, even with an otherwise great name.

6. End user development potential: Domain names have a certain flexibility that will develop them into major money winning sites and after having read this guide, it is down to you to make the decision on whether the domain words will help you hit the jackpot. Read more to find out more domain investing tips that will put you just way ahead of the rest.

Site Flipping - Investments That Pay Dividends

Obviously, you know what they are looking for based on the keyword they are typing: Cell Phones and cell phone information. And listen up bucko, those visitors will type in CellPhones.com day in and day out, whether you advertise the site or not, just so long as you pay the $10/year registration fee.

It's amazing that even with a shite page, you get traffic. If you blast them with banners and pop ups, you still get traffic. If your navigation is poor, well they just keep on coming. If you market a high price bracket product, nothings stopping them. It doesn't matter even if your site selection is not high quality they will keep on coming because of the power of your domain name. It goes without saying that I under no circumstances recommend this style of site content.

Direct Navigation occurs when somebody types in the dot com site directly into the search box and this type in traffic accounts for half of all internet traffic. Obviously most people are typing in the search engine names like Google, but even so 20% are not. Earlier on in the year I was at a seminar in Las Vegas and we dealt we the influence of user habits on traffic and I really learned just how important this new found knowledge was going to make me a whole load of money.

More facts - 1) Address bar searches account for 31% of total searches. 2) The search bar accounts for 28% of the total of address lookups. Domainers actually earn quite a lot of their income due to the alarming fact that most people just don't know how to use the internet. So I suppose this would be why "yahoo.com" topped the list of searched terms.

So let's have a look at just how much cellphones.com is really worth in visitors. It's a lot and at 125,000 visitors a month they would need stringing up if they were unable to capitalize on their domain name power. Just on click revenues It could be making about $25.000 a month through type-in traffic only. If you put into place a proper affiliate program which will involve advertising costs and you paid a dollar for a keyword like "cell phones", you could still expect a six figure profit margin every month.

If you added to the power of this domain name to a high street business that sells cell phones, then you would probably be able to increase sales up to 3 million dollars per month. What power domain names can have on a business like cellphones.com which is worth a seven figure number. We can now see how important it is for domain names to be part of a perfectly structured business plan. Investment-grade keyword domains are responsible for this e-commerce powerhouse that can pay great dividends, gives you a monthly income and right up until you decide on selling your web site.

Finding an Appropriate Domain Name for your Website

You need to be aware of different languages used in creating a website; that is easy to access and browse through for the average web-user and have sufficient knowledge of web standards compliance. It is tremendously hard to find a good domain name that's short, easy to remember, and relates to your website, business, or product. In fact, by the end of the week you could publish a highly enticing report and offer it through your website (in exchange for a newsletter subscription or some other form of lead capture).

Computer companies like Dell and Gateway allow their customers to custom build PCs on their website. Henry’s website is a contented rich site where you can get free and objective information on mastering all aspects of law firm marketing. Search engines send out spiders or robots to evaluate the words you have on your website.

The costs of hosting your new domain property is also relatively inexpensive, ranging from $10 to $40 per month, depending on the company where you buy hosting and the features you would need with your website. Simply having a website will not mechanically result in visits to your website, no matter how compelling the content.

Most likely the work does not come with any of these things and either will your website if it’s designed by a part time website designer or someone offering cheaper services. A few days later you get complaints about some other question and you again react quickly to fix the website.

Possibly you would like some help in writing proposals, designing a latest website, or sending out press releases. You can find freelancers to take on just about any other non-administrative project you can think of - designing your website, writing a business plan, sending out press releases etc.
Doing freelance graphic designing without having your own website is suicide. One week, for instance, you could be networking, another designing a leaflet, another distributing it, and another updating your website. Website redesign firms use high speed connections while designing their original store so they rarely see the increase in page load times.

You can assemble customer information online, post your detailed privacy policy on an easily-accessible page on your website and ask those giving you their information to read it. Before you hire a website designer/developer or SEO expert ask for some case studies of sites they have optimized. If you get a chance, check out their new website.

Be the content creator, not the distributor - Instead of publishing other people’s news on your website think about how cool it would be to have your own feed in print on thousands of other sites.

If a business is serious about breaking into foreign markets, it is imperative that the website is translated into languages of target areas. Website’s reach, when marketed properly, is far greater; and with brilliant web site design, your business can even look bigger and better than your top competitors in your industry.

Search Engine Optimization, Website Promotion, Website, Site Optimization. Know How To Rank High

You’ve probably created an awesome looking website, perhaps spent good money at it too. You may also have submitted this beautiful website to a few search engines and prayed and hoped that people would mysteriously show up at your side and buy whatever it is you were selling.

There are just too much to cover in seo optimization but for interest of space and your time in deciphering what I have to impart to you, I will share with you some good seo tips and focus only on some important aspects of on-page optimization and off-page optimization, which are essentially the two types of search engine optimization, that you can immediately practiced and benefit. For further results you can visit us at www.thesearchengineprimer.com On-page refers to things you can do to your own website. Off-page refers to the things that happen to your website from other sites and therefore you may not have much control over this if you don’t have good knowledge or strategy.

On page seo optimization essentially refers to:

Header tags – use and placing specific keywords within those tags

Title tag – your title tag, should contain your main keyword in the title tags

Bolding, italicizing, underlining your keywords that are found anywhere in the body of the webpage.

One misconception people sometimes have is putting too many keywords in the Meta Tags. This may not help in seo optimization at all. In fact it might even hurt you. Many people do not know that ideally the title tag should contain fewer than 100 characters while the keyword and description tags should contain fewer than 256 characters each.

Having said all the good things about on-page optimization, and I agree that it is something every marketer really ought to do, you may still not see dramatic changes in the seo ranking. It‘s the off page optimization factors that will drive this eventual result.

It’s for this reason that you should focus more on off-page optimization. While this is far more important of the two types of SEO optimization, it is also the harder of the two. Off page optimization basically consists of all off page ranking factors like:

Which websites and how many of them link to you

The Google page rank of the website linking to you

The page title of the website linking to you

The anchor text used in the link linking to you

The number and type of links linking to the website that‘s linking to you.

The number of outbound links on the website that is linking to you

The total number of links on the website that is linking to you

Whether or not the websites linking to you are deemed by Google as an authority website. For more check it out www.the20seotools.com Link popularity and link development are related to off page optimization and there is just too much to go over in this article. What I can share with you here and it comes from many seo experts too, is that getting links from WebPages that contain your main keyword in the page title is extremely powerful and is something many people often overlook.

I hope that I Leave you with some good seo tips which you can immediately use, and be convinced that seo optimization, link development and keyword optimization are instrumental in bringing you free, natural and organic traffic to your website.

Domain name registration is the first step to build a website

In the era of internet, while even the smallest of the business entities thrives for an online presence, it is necessary to understand the starting steps of the process. The online presence of your business is marked by the website that you have and the domain name is the name and address of that website.

Any marketer will emphasize on a good, easy to spell and easy to remember domain name that is similar to your business or nature of business. Domain name is the key to branding your business online.

A popular trend used to be that many business chose a domain name with a prefix ‘I’ or ‘e’ to the nature of shopping. The terminology became so famous over the internet that any body who hears the names ‘e-shopping’, ‘e-travel’, ‘i-ticket’ etc. can easily relate to the online entity without further explanation.

The other important part of domain name is their extension. Domain names are often confused by the customers because of their extensions. A typical extension varies from .com, .net, .biz, .info, .edu etc. etc. Many big business houses make it a practice to book all the extension and map it with each other so that abcd.com and abcd.net will take the visitor to the same page. However this adds to the cost and also the list being increasing daily with country specific extensions like, .au, .us, .co.uk, .asia etc coming in it is not always possible to acquire every possible extension with your name. Hence it is necessary that you promote the entire domain name to your target customers and build a brand around it.

Domain name registration starts with the process of checking the availability of the name you have short listed along with the desired extension. There are a number of domain registration websites that offer you the search function for the availability of your domain name. Once you have checked the availability, you can go forward to the domain name registration procedure from the same company where you checked the availability from a different company. At the process of domain registration you will also need to mention the time for which you want to own the particular name. You need to renew it every time your tenure is near completion. Make sure that you make your domain registration in from a vendor that has a secured, certified online transaction process.

List-Building: important questions of start a list

Since people generally ask me the same questions about list building all the time, I thought maybe you'd like know...

Q: When I am buying domain names, is buying “.com” all I need to buy?

The reason is because I come up with all sorts of other ideas as time goes on. If you have an unlimited budget, buy all of them. For more details www.confessions-followup-marketing.com You can redirect the other ones to your main .com, just in case someone types in .org or .net. But that does not happen too often. Most of the time, if someone is just typing a domain in, they are going to type it in as .com first, if they’re just trying to hit on something. Stick to .com and you'll get more hits.

Q: I am one of those people with a million ideas, and I have a lot of domain names already that I bought when I got the idea. How do I decide which is the right one for list building?

Tellman: Here is what I would like you to do: Pick one, not because it is the best. If you have kids that have ever been on a sports team, you know that they sometimes screw up in practice. Be a kid! I want you to go out and screw up. Remember, when you’re talking about online business, it is completely fluid, it’s like water or air. You can change it instantaneously. Even if you completely screw it up, it doesn’t matter, because you can change it.

Just start list building, and don’t worry about whether it is right or wrong. Just do it for fun. It will cost you a little bit, but you will get a massive amount of knowledge. For more details www.craigs-list-profits.com You will be a million times ahead of everyone else out there, just like you, who has been sitting around with way too many ideas in their head and no list. Once you get your own list building, you can do anything, but until you start to take the first steps toward list building, you will remain paralyzed.

Q: There are different types of autoresponders, as far as features and functions go. Is one better than the other to service a list?

Tellman: You will hear conflicting information from different people. I have four or five different autoresponders I use that I have tested and tried for different things. What I am giving you with My First List is a complete system that will all integrate together easily, so you don’t have to think about it when you are starting your first list building system.

That doesn’t mean it is the best for everything. But what it does mean is it’s the best to get started right now, today. The reason I am telling you to go to MyFirstAutoresponder.com is because, if at some point, there is a better autoresponder to get started, I am going to change that redirect to something else. I will change it to something else that is more appropriate for someone list building for the first time. Right now, the easiest, quickest way for you to get started is to get what you see at MyFirstAutoresponder.com. Don’t think about the rest of the other stuff until you have your first list growing. Go and do it now, don’t wait another moment!

Q: If you have a product or a service, where do you get the information to plug into the autoresponder to send out to your list? Are there any tools that will help you do that?

Tellman: To answer your question, you go to the company that provides the product and you ask them for stock emails. The other thing is that in My First List, I teach you some methods I use to come up with ideas for emails to put into the autoresponder. Right now, you don’t need to think about that. For now, all you need to do is worry about getting the autoresponder set up so it is functional. Lay the foundation first. Then, start list building. That's all you have to do.

The biggest concept here is that you need to start list building. Don't let anything stop you. You will make mistakes, and through them, you will learn. Just start list building, and only concentrate on sending traffic to your list building squeeze page. Until you have done that, until you have built a massive list, don't do anything else.
