The bag seems to capture most of the sawdust and it is reasonably easy to empty. It meets my expectations.

 "Rear bagger: A dud!" 2010-02-11

By Thomas D. Mccue, Jr. (WI, USA)

The bag simply collects some of the saw dust. At best 50%. It is much better to use a shop vac's tubing inserted directly into the output of the saw. I put together a common switch so they both go on at the same time. My rear bagger is already in the dust bin in my shop (used it 6 times in 3 weeks)

"Effective dust collection for a decent price" 2010-01-06

By M. Ross (Orange, CA USA)

After using this dust bag for months now, I am pleasantly surprised at how much dust the bag actually collects. In fact, it works better than I thought it would. The capacity is quite good and you can use the saw quite a bit before having to empty the bag.

Does the bag collect as much as a shop vac attached to the saw or a dust collection system? Of course not, and it would be unreasonable to expect that it would. I am puzzled at some reviews that knock the product for not comparing favorably to a true dust collection system. I use the bag on a Bosch 4100-09 unit and use both the stock and zero clearance inserts. Contrary to some reviewers, I have not found the bag to significantly restrict output airflow.

At home I use a dust collection system, but on the road this bag works well and saves cleanup time at the end of the job. I think if you keep your expectations reasonable, you will be satisfied with this dust bag.

 "RJC" 2009-10-19

This dust collection bag captured a good portion of the sawdust, but creates too much resistance to airflow, causing sawdust to blow back in your face. I had to take it off. Disappointing.

 "Just a Bag" 2009-09-13

By S. Beck

Thought I would give this bag a try as I was purchasing a few other items on Amazon and take advantage of the free shipping offer. The Bosch table saw that the bag attaches to is great, the bag is not! When ripping a 2 X 4 the chips just plug up in the bottom of the saw as there is not enough flow into the bag. The bag also plugged up at the next job when I was just doing general cross cut work in poplar and oak. Probably need to purchase one of those canister type dust collectors. Save your money and dont buy this Bosch accessory.

     "just like new" 2009-11-17

    By Nancy Powers (CA USA)

I loaded my 18 electric Poulan to someone and when I got it back it wouldn't cut anything. From Amazon I purchase 2 chains to get the free shipping and saved over $20.00 on the two that I would have paid at a big box store; yes, I went there first. When I put the new chain on and adjusted it, she cut just like when I took it out of the box the first time. Thank you - Amazon.

"Quality does not compare to original chain" 2009-11-08

    By Leenaud (Hendersonville, NC)

Does not seem to be made of the same quality as the chain that came with the Poulan I purchased. Need to sharpen it quite often after just cutting a few logs. Once sharpened it works OK again but all the wear and tear plus al the sharpening will result in a short life for this product. I made sure the tension was not too tight. Next time I will do a little more research a far as where the item was manufactured.

"after 1 glitch, the pp400e works great" 2009-03-22

By Larry Sakanashi (Santa Clara, CA United States)

Right out of the box, the Poulan Pro 400E had a broken trigger mechanism. After the local Poulan repair shop (Sharpening Mechanics, San Jose, CA) repaired the pp400e, it worked great. This electric chain saw has more than enough power for any small tree trimming task. Be sure to read all precautions before using this, or any other, chain saw.

 "Light and sharp" 2009-10-08

This saw is a bit pricey, but very light, compact and sharp. The teeth are a bit far apart, but once it got in the groove, it works well on medium size branches and roots. Great Felco quality.

"Slices Throuugh Tree Limbs Like BUTTER!" 2009-10-05

I love this saw! I pruned my apple trees that had been untouched in years and this little saw did the job like a champ. It fit perfectly in my hand. I have to point out that I have severe arthritis but, with this tool the job was easy. Thanks Felco!

 "Indispensable Tool" 2009-07-30

This tool is fabulous for dividing perennials. Cuts through big clumps of hostas like butter. It's small and compact but does the work of a large saw. Great for trimming small branches. Very well made.

"Felco folding saw lives up to its name" 2009-07-28

By Debra B. Blackwell (Southern MS USA)

This little saw works extremely well if you have strong hands. The grip is small so you should not try to cut a big tree with it!! It is strictly for pruning work, like blueberry bushes, hydrangeas, those wild little shrubs that grow everywhere in the fence line. It works wonders. But, I would save my money and just buy the big Toro loppers. They really do the job!!

"No verbose review - just another very satisfied Felco customer." 2009-05-20

By cr0ak (Houston, TX)

Felco is hands-down the best quality for gardening tools. They can seem pricey, but "you get what you pay for". If you want to replace tools every year (or every other year), by all means go for the cheaper brands. But if you want tools that will last, spend that little bit extra. You won't regret it!

"Basic product that does the job" 2009-12-03

By Bruce W. Bonner (Philadelphia, USA)

there's not much to the package . . . just a few parts. I would have made the chain holder out of metal rather than plastic and I would have provided a second grinding stone. When the first wears down, you'll need to buy an entire new kit. But it reconditions the chain as promised.

"Does an adequate job but a file is still superior." 2009-10-22

By Terry M. (Seattle, WA United States)

I have my chains sharpened professionally when they begin to cut crooked due to uneven wear. Otherwise, I touch them myself as soon as they fail to cut uniform shavings. This usually occurs after about an hour of cutting hardwoods or two hours of softwoods. If the bar gets into the dirt or you hit a nail you will be sharpening even sooner. You can either carry several chains to get you through the day or be prepared to touch them up on the bar.

I prefer to touch up my own chains because the saw shops usually take off about 2MM of steel when they sharpen. At that rate, a chain does not last very long. If you touch up your own chains when they first begin to dull, you will only take off a few thousandths of an inch.

This tool works well if you gauge the grinder off of the tooth as described in some of the other posts. The problem is powering the grinder while in the field. Cordless grinders don't hold a charge very long so you need to carry extra batteries. Corded grinders need a place to be plugged in. Either solution limits you mobility.

I prefer the "Oregon" brand file and gauge. No electricity required and it easily goes in your thigh pocket or field kit. Only one or two strokes per tooth needed for a touch-up and you are back to work. The gauge make it easy for even a neophyte to maintain proper tooth shape and depth.

 "Could be better" 2010-04-03

By R. Brown

Generally speaking it worked well and I accomplished the task that it was purchased for. The problem I had was in getting the chain oriented so that teeth of the chain were against the limb. There is a small metal plate attached at one end of the chain that I assume is there for that purpose, but it seems it is too small or light to function well. A more substancial piece would likely work better. I'll add more weight to the end of the plate before I use the saw again, and I will because it does get the job done.
