 "nice addition to shop" 2010-04-09

By aging luddite (new hampshire)

I should have purchased this miter gauge years ago. I have had a radial-arm saw for several decades now and acquired a Powermatic table saw about eight years ago. I continued to use the radial arm saw for making many of my crosscuts and miters mostly because of the inadequate miter gauge that came with the saw. Increasingly I find the radial-arm saw dangerous (one bad cut and a few close calls) and somewhat slow to setup. With the new Incra miter gauge I now use my table saw for just about everything except for cross cuts on very long boards. My cuts are cleaner, the setup faster, and the dust removal better. I had been following the price of this Incra gauge on Amazon for several weeks before I purchased it. The price went up and down like a yoyo and continues to be all over the place at different stores. I recommend looking around to find the best price. The setup was straightforward and easy and the alignment was perfect right out of the box.

For any cuts where you need several the same length this can't be beat. Wish I had ordered one years ago.

 "Very happy with purchase" 2010-03-12

By D. Lengyel (Minnesota, USA)

I almost bought the Incra v120 (gauge but no fence or stop), but then came across the 1000SE. Glad I did. For an additional $50 or so you are getting a great gauge fence and stop. It is great tool for the price and wish I had purchased it 10 years ago when I bought the saw.

I was originally concerned with the shorter fence of the 1000SE, because a lot of my cut-offs are over 30", yet I didn't really want to spend the extra money on the version with the longer telescoping fence. Well by adding a simple MDF fence and then attaching the Shop Stop to the MDF I can easily adjust and cut off any length I need (I was concerned before ordering it, that the stop would not work on an extension fence, but it works perfectly).

As far as I am concerned there is nothing else out there in a miter gauge for this price, with this quality. It is an affordable, excellent, well thought out product.

Oh ya - and it's made in the USA.

It's the best purchase I've made in quite some time.

 "The greatest review ever!!" 2010-02-16

By Dale Murphy

Nice gauge. Easy to assemble and calibrate. Constructed very well and should serve many moons. One drawback for me is that it is very heavy around the handle and with me trying to use this with a portable table saw it is really too big. My saw does not have the T-slot gauge so if I try to cut wide boards the gauge wants to come out of the slot. Not the fault of the gauge, just my small table saw. If you are using with a small saw you may want to order the gauge without the fence. The good news is this gives me an excuse to purchase a larger table saw.

 "somewhat dissapointed" 2009-12-13

By fishing nut

The metal fence does not sit at a 90 degree angle with the saw top. There seems to be about a 3 or 4 degree angle at the top of the fence. It makes me wonder if the produce is a factory second.http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007UQ2EQ/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_img

"Great device for measuring angles." 2010-02-14

By S. A. ROBBINS (USA)

I bought this WR300 because I need to check the cut angles on a number of power tools that I have. It works quite well, easy and fast to use. I compared it to a Bosch digital angle gauge and it measured the same.

It only has 2 drawbacks, it only measures Relative angles (between say the saw table and the blade) not Absolute and for me it is too small.

If you need to check the cut angle on a table saw, this device will work quite well.

"Best angle guage so far." 2010-01-27

By NebraskaHarv (Lincoln, NE USA)

I have compared the Wixey with 2 other brands of digital angle guages, and came away feeling the Wixey produces the best results. It seems much more sensitive to changes than the other brands. I could slowly adjust my angle with the other boxes and then eventually they would "jump" to a new measurement, where the Wixey seemed to measure even the slightest change in angle and was fluid in it's measurements. It is also the smallest and lightest of the 3 I compared, and has nice strong magnets that hold it in place. One of the others I looked at couldn't even hold it's place on my saw blade without sliding down. The others used a common 9-volt battery, where the Wixey uses a "watch" style battery. It will be interesting to see how often they need changed, and how much of a pain it will be when a spare watch battery isn't in the house. The benefits the other brands had was that both had a level feature to measure the absolute angle with the ground, in addition to the relative angle measurement. The other boxes were made of sturdier metal, but I don't foresee the Wixey having problems if you treat it as the precision instrument it is.
